1. Kalshi: The gold standard for regulated US event contracts

92/100

KalshiEX LLC has been a CFTC-designated contract market since November 2020 (CFTC release 8302-20 (opens in a new tab)), the longest record of any exchange on this list. For US traders who want event contracts on politics, economics, sports and crypto on one regulated exchange, Kalshi is the benchmark. It charges a fee when a trade is executed, worked out from the price and the number of contracts and shown in the order ticket before you confirm; cancelling is free. Minimum deposit is $10; bank transfers are free and debit-card deposits may carry a 2% fee (Kalshi help center, "Fees" and "Transfers FAQ").

2. ProphetX: Sports-first peer-to-peer prediction exchange

87/100

ProphetX LLC was designated a contract market by the CFTC in June 2026 (CFTC listing (opens in a new tab)), so you trade against other participants on a federally regulated order book instead of against a house price. It is a sports-first exchange built around NFL, NBA, MLB and college markets, and on September 2, 2026 it also certified election contracts with the CFTC (Senate, House, governor and mayor races, and control of Congress) (CFTC product filings (opens in a new tab)). Fees are 2% of net winnings per market on straight trades (ProphetX help center, "Understanding Fees"). If you mostly trade sports, the peer-to-peer pricing here is the most trader-friendly on our list.

3. Polymarket US: The US exchange of the Polymarket brand

85/100

Polymarket US is the US exchange of the Polymarket brand. It runs through QCX LLC, a CFTC-designated contract market (CFTC listing (opens in a new tab)), with Polymarket Clearing as its clearing house, so US traders use a separate, CFTC-regulated order book, not the international polymarket.com markets. Politics, news, economics, crypto and sports all list. Its taker fee depends on the price and is highest near 50 cents (about $1.74 per 100 contracts); since 1 PM ET on October 19, 2026 the flat rebate on resting (maker) orders has ended for traders below $10 million in monthly maker volume (Polymarket US fee page, checked October 14, 2026).

4. OG.com: Crypto.com's sports-first prediction market

78/100

OG.com is Crypto.com's US prediction market, run by North American Derivatives Exchange, Inc. (Crypto.com | Derivatives North America). Its help center says OG.com is available in all U.S. states, but certain contracts are not: residents of Nevada, Ohio, Michigan, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Illinois cannot trade sports contracts on OG. OG charges a fee when you open or close a position (price-based on most markets, $0.02 per contract on crypto, FX, commodity and index markets) and none at settlement. 5. ReBet: Social sports app with a sweepstakes model

65/100

ReBet occupies an interesting position — it is broader than a pure prediction market platform, combining sports event trading with social casino-style games under a sweepstakes model. For users who want prediction market-style sports trading alongside wider entertainment options, ReBet delivers variety that pure PM platforms do not. The regulatory model is sweepstakes, not CFTC, which means different protections and the redeemable-currency structure. Best suited for casual, entertainment-focused users rather than serious prediction market traders seeking deep liquidity and tight spreads.

6. Novig: Peer-to-peer sports exchange

Not re-scored since the August 4, 2026 relaunch

Novig is a peer-to-peer sports exchange. It has been a CFTC-designated contract market (Ludlow Exchange, LLC) since June 16, 2026 (CFTC listing (opens in a new tab)); its minimum age is 21. Novig says it is available nationwide except Arizona, Michigan and Nevada (Novig eligibility (opens in a new tab)). Pre-game straight trades are free; live trades, futures and parlays carry a price-based taker fee, and resting (maker) orders pay nothing (Novig help center, "Fees on Novig"). For NFL, NBA and MLB traders it is worth having alongside a broader exchange such as Kalshi or Polymarket US.

Regulation 101

CFTC Regulated vs Sweepstakes: What's the Difference?

CFTC-regulated platforms (DCM/FCM) are federally licensed derivatives exchanges. Sweepstakes platforms operate under state sweepstakes law using virtual currencies, which carry different consumer protections. For more, see our how prediction markets work guide.

Frequently asked questions

Which prediction market app is best in the US?

In our October 20, 2026 scores, Kalshi is highest (92/100), followed by ProphetX (87) and Polymarket US (85). Of the apps we don't partner with, Robinhood scores highest (87). Which one suits you depends on what you trade and where you live: ProphetX is built around sports, while Kalshi and Polymarket US also list politics, economics and culture.

Can I use these apps in every state?

No. Kalshi's sports contracts are blocked by court order in Nevada, Michigan and Washington, and Polymarket US, ProphetX and Novig are not offered in Nevada. In most other states the status is Available, dispute pending, because courts are still deciding how state gambling law applies to sports contracts.

Do commissions affect the ranking?

We earn a commission when you sign up through our links to the apps in the first group. The commission does not change their scores, and each group is sorted by score.

What is the minimum age?

Kalshi's, Polymarket US's and OG's minimum age is 18; ProphetX's is 18 or the local age of majority, if higher; Novig's is 21. We recommend 21+.
