How We Score Prediction Market Platforms

Every platform review on PredictionRanks is scored against the same five-category framework. Total weight: 100 points. Scores are independently assigned by editorial; affiliate relationships do not change the rubric.

What earns points

Regulation & safety (25 points). Top marks go to a CFTC-designated exchange with its own clearing and a long US track record. Points come off for a short history under the current owner, for state actions or lawsuits, and for products sold under state sweepstakes rules instead of CFTC rules.

Market coverage (20 points). How many kinds of markets US users can trade (sports, politics, economics, weather, culture) and how deep the most popular ones are. A sports-only product can score well on depth, but not full marks.

Fees & spreads (20 points). Published trading and withdrawal fees, plus the typical gap between buy and sell prices on popular markets. Clear, published fees score higher than fees you only find at checkout.

User experience (20 points). Sign-up and identity checks, deposits and withdrawals in dollars, how the app and website work in our own tests, and customer support.

Promotions (15 points). The current new-user offer: what you get, what you must do to get it, and how clear the terms are. We check offers at least every 4 to 7 days, and the review shows the date of the last check.

Total: 100. We show the total out of 100. Scores are set by editorial; affiliate deals don't change them. Where we have a deal, the review says so.
